  1. Back in May 2020 both of my father and my stepmother were diagnosed with COVID-19 and were isolated for a month. Even though neither of them had to be hospitalized during the curse of the treatment they both had to deal with being apart from all of their love ones at such an unfortunate and hard moment in their lives. As a result of COVID-19 my parents fell into a state of depression that it is still palpable until today. My father hasn’t been able to be the same person he once was and is in a constant fear of contracting the virus again as well being uncertain of when a vaccine will be available. My stepmom on the other hand returned to her job as nurse in the front line as soon as she was cleared by her primary care physician. However, it took her a while until she was able to perform her duties at 100%. COVID-19 changed my parents in a way they never imagine.

  2. This year changed my life in many ways. Unfortunately Covid 19 took my grandfather away from this life and has made me feel depressed. Not being able to see him for his funeral or see him one last time has hit me hard and I feel that this post Covid19 depression is mentally exhausting me. prayers to everyone who lost someone from this Covid 19.

  3. I took the survey listed on the website and it verified that I am suffering from Post COVID-19 depression. Like everyone I was anxious at the start of the year when COVID-19 hit our country and I thought to myself, as long as my family and friends get through this pandemic I’ll be okay. Unfortunately my worst nightmare came true and we had a tragedy in my family. My dad, while fighting as a Physician on the front lines, got COVID-19 the week of June 12, 2020 while treating patients in a nursing home. The virus was brought home to my grandfather and mother, as this virus may not show symptoms until a few days after contamination. My father and grandfather were rushed to the hospital Fathers Day morning, June 21, 2020 due to severe shortness of breath. On June 27, 2020 my grandfather passed away before being intubated due to COVID-19. We had to tell my dad through facetime that his dad passed away while he was alone in a hospital room surrounded by machines and IV as the hospitals do not allow visitors under any circumstances. On July 11, 2020 my dad facetimed us that he couldn’t breathe on his own anymore even in prone position with by-pap. He was severely short of breath. He told us not to worry that he would fight his hardest while being intubated and that everything would be okay because he has Jesus and Mary in his heart. That afternoon he was intubated and put on ECMO. On August 1, 2020 my dad passed away from COVID-19 at only 57 years old. He gave the ultimate sacrifice for his patients and for that he will forever be our hero. Losing my dad and my grandfather, two of the most important men in my life, has devastated me. I was a total daddy’s girl and going on in life without my dad and not being able to talk to him or see him daily like I used to, has utterly killed me inside. I know there are several other families out there who have lost a loved one to this deadly virus as well and left this world way too soon. For those individuals, you are in my daily prayers and you are not alone.

  4. During Covid-19 crisis, my families and relatives did not get sick from Covid-19. I was going through a marriage separation process and I did see my kid during that time. However, I could not give her a hug or kiss. My kid was afraid to have direct contact with me due to my job working in the hospital. I felt bad. As Covid-19 cases went down, my kid was less afraid. I was able to bring her with me to play and hang out. This post Covid-19 event gives me a chance to give her hug and kiss everyday and tell her that “I love her.” I hope this posting let people know you are not alone. Please share your story with us.
